2025 Orono, Minnesota

Once home to writer Maud Hart Lovelace, this historic 1920s summer cottage on Lake Minnetonka was brimming with history and character. Rather than tear it down, the new owners wanted to preserve what made it special, so Edgerton took on a thoughtful, full-home renovation to honor the cottage’s past while making room for the future. We gently reworked the original floor plan to add a main-floor primary suite and built a two-story addition that blends seamlessly with the original structure. From new windows and millwork to custom cabinetry, every detail was designed to feel as though it’s always been there. The result is a layered, livable cottage with plenty of stories to tell––and plenty more to come.

"We would wholeheartedly recommend Edgerton & Co. The craftmanship throughout our home is beautiful. Every aspect of the remodel reflects the care and pride that the Edgerton team puts into their work. Just as importantly, we always felt they were accessible, responsive, and committed to doing things the right way. We are extremely grateful for the beautiful home Edgerton & Co. helped us create and for the wonderful experience of working together.”

“Remodeling a lake home is a major undertaking, and Edgerton & Co. brought an exceptional combination of experience, creativity, attention to detail, and personal care to the entire project. What impressed us most was Charlie’s ability to listen to what we wanted while also offering thoughtful ideas and solutions that made the home even better than we had envisioned. He and the Edgerton team cared about the details, the quality of the work, and how everything came together. We could not be happier with the experience or the finished product.”
